Montalcino, Italy (Tuscany wine-growing region - April, 2019)
These Family Trees are built on the Microsoft Excel platform. They require a PC running Microsoft Windows / Excel to access and browse through them. The ISP on which this website is built no longer allows direct-open-view access to files stored on their ftp://server. So, guests must download copies of these files in order to view them. Unfortunately, we are unable to develop or support access for Apple_Mac users.
Instructions for viewing/downloading your copy of a Chase-n-TaylorFamTree file: 1.) Open a file explorer window on your desktop << note: this is NOT a Web browser window 2.) Copy & paste the following URL into the address bar: ftp://cnplakehouse.com/ 3.) You will be prompted for a UserID and Password: UserID = JChase68 << case sensitive Password = Class@78 << case sensitive 4.) A folder will open containing two (2) Windows-Excel files - a.) one for the Chase family, b.) the other for the Taylor family. 5.) Right-click on the one you wish to view/download, and copy & paste it to a file folder on your PC where you wish to save it. 6.) You may now close the ftp:// file-browser, and open your copied file.
Within your open copy, click on image thumbnails and/or links provided in the body of the spreadsheet(s) to call full-resolution images and biographical documents. These links refer back to photographs, documents and writings stored on the ftp://server. Other links will connect to references on FamilySearch.com or FindaGrave.com - both of which are free public genealogical websites where much of our family information can be found.
Note: Any changes you make to the file on your PC will NOT be reflected back to the original "master" file on the ftp://server. We hope you will want to incorporate changes, fix broken links, report problems or provide any other form of feedback, by contacting Jim or Janet through the vitals provided on the 'Contacts' page of this website. That way, changes can be made to the original "master" files of the Trees, and shared with everyone.
We are updating these files fairly frequently; updates are documented on the 'Update Record' spreadsheet tabs so you can tell if an update has been made or not. Please feel free to come back often to re-download updates as needed.
